    Structural heart disease is the term used to describe an abnormality of the heart. This is often congenital but can also encompass heart valve disease

  • Investigations

    Structural heart disease is often considered on the basis of history, family history of disease, an abnormal clinical examination or ECG.

    Structural heart disease is confirmed with the aid of Echocardiography. Cardiac CT and Cardiac MRI.

  • Management

    Depending on the diagnosis, management includes:

    Conservative management Transcatheter intervention (e.g. ASD closure) Cardiac Surgery
